Securing your building and assets with access control

Your business, regardless of size, has important and valuable assets that need protection from theft, damage and vandalism - this includes both items owned by your business and also staff owned property too. It's likely that your premises also have specific areas that are especially sensitive and require restricted access.

It's common in buildings that are secured by locks and keys for doors to be left unlocked all day. This opens up the possibility of opportunist theft and malicious damage. Ryder Access Control Systems determine who is allowed to enter each specified area and at what times they are allowed access.

Historically, access to individual areas was accomplished through locks and keys. Electronic access control uses computers to solve the limitations of mechanical systems. When access is granted (based on the I.D. device presented) the door is unlocked electronically for a predetermined time and the transaction is recorded. When access is refused, the door remains locked electronically and the attempted access is also recorded for tracking and reference.

A wide range of ID devices can be used to replace mechanical keys such as PIN codes, proximity cards, key fobs or biometric recognition technology. ID devices are issued to allow access through controlled doors and are easily barred from the system if they are lost, stolen or just not returned by someone who leaves your company. Barred users will not be granted access through a controlled door.

Which Access Control system should you choose?

Standalone Access Control

This type of system may be used to control access on one or many independent doors in a building. Access is gained by using a numeric code, PIN with a keypad, or by presenting a proximity fob or card, depending on which type of reader is fitted.

  • Separate control unit and reader increasing security
  • Simple token management so you can easily grant temporary access to visitors
  • Fully scaleable enabling you to expand systems easily and cost-effectively
  • Access card, keypads or proximity entry - fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act
  • Electronic locking for maximum reliability

PC based (Networked) Access Control

Control access to your premises centrally through a networked, PC based Access Control system, which can be used to efficiently control any number of doors in a building. Access is gained by using a numeric PIN with a keypad, by presenting a proximity card or magstripe ID device depending on which type of reader is fitted at each individual point of entry.

  • Powerful and flexible PC based, networked system
  • Rapid, central control of privileges and access rights
  • Manage hundreds of doors, tens of thousands of users
  • Automated event logging and report generation
  • Fully scaleable so that your security systems grow as your business does
  • Integrate other building systems to improve efficiency
  • Access card, keypads or proximity entry - fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act
  • Electronic locking for maximum reliability

Safeguarding your business with high quality fire detection solutions

Ryder fire detection systems play a critical role in reducing the risk to life and limiting damage to buildings and property in the event of fire.

Our fire systems offer early detection of all fire types, coupled with 24 hour monitoring to our Alarm Receiving Centre. This ensures that the fire and rescue services are on their way in an emergency.

Ryder Security Systems provide two types of wired fire detection systems

Conventional fire alarm systems

An ideal and cost effective fire alarm solution for many small buildings. Conventional systems normally consist of a control panel linked to a number of lines of fire detectors, manual call points (detection zones) and a number of sounder alarm circuits.

Intelligent, analogue, addressable fire systems

For larger or more complex buildings, a more sophisticated and intelligent fire alarm solution from Ryder Security Systems can be installed. These offer benefits in speed of detection, identification of the location of a fire and easier maintenance.

A world of protection without cable

Our everyday lives have been changed by the use of radio communications, and now so has fire detection.

Ryder Security Systems and 5000 Fire Point provides an attractive and cost effective alternative to traditional wired fire alarm systems for all applications. The 5000 Fire Point utilises secure, license-free radio communications to interconnect the sensors and devices (smoke detectors, call-points, etc) with the controllers. A simple concept but one that provides unique benefits.

5000 Fire Point is a full analogue addressable fire detection system with a set of features that make it one of the most advanced fire detection systems available – and without the need for cable.

Ryder Security Systems provide this solution as an attractive and cost effective alternative to traditional wired fire alarm systems for all applications.

Intruder alarms for businesses

Wireless fire systems

Integrate and manage your security, CCTV, access and fire systems with one provider

What is an integrated system?

Combine your intruder alarms, access control, CCTV, fire alarms, public address and building management systems (BMS), to interact with each other as one single entity.

Why integrate your safety and security systems?

Integration ensures that each of your systems work together effectively, something that can make a life saving difference and save costs through efficiency.

Let us give you a brief example scenario...

A fire alarm is activated in an occupied area of your premises. An integrated system will send a fire alarm signal via the intruder alarm communication line to the monitoring station. Simultaneously, the system will display the relevant CCTV cameras to view the area, page staff and release specific fire exit doors. This kind of automated process minimises the requirement for human intervention and greatly increases the speed and efficiency in getting help.

Ryder Security Systems can design install and maintain your security, access, CCTV and fire systems as one package to allow for an integrated customisable solution that is both budget friendly and regulation compliant.
